About Maggie
After another career, Maggie returned to her first love – Acting. Since returning she has studied and done sketch comedy on late-night TV and at Second City, co-hosted, and was featured in web series, several short films and a music video. Her early years were primarily in Ohio where she began acting as a young ‘un, including an Apprenticeship at Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park, followed by fashion and commercial modeling in Manhattan.
Later, a career U-turn: obtained a BS in Nursing from City College of New York and became a Registered Nurse. Following NY, next stop was Los Angeles working as an RN in UCLA’s Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), later earning a Masters’ Degree and advancing to Nurse Practitioner and Lecturer at UCLA. Maggie served 27+years in the Air Force Reserve, 16yrs as a Flight Nurse, deploying during Desert Storm. She is an Air War College graduate and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
While working and teaching at UCLA Health, MGM developed ‘Group One Medical’ a reality series where Maggie played the group’s nurse. Since retiring from UCLA she has studied with Laura Gardner, Jeanie Hackett, Gordon Hunt’s Workshop, and recently completed a week-long Master-Class Intensive with Larry Moss. She enjoys Improv and is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory and Grad Revue.
As noted, Maggie has acted in several well regarded short films and is currently appearing in two web series: “Bennington Gothique” and “AVA”. Other credits include playing Aunt Julia in the world premiere of “Resolving Hedda” recently at the Victory Theatre, sketch comedy on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shows at Second City, co-hosted with Ben Mankiewicz on Turner Classic Movies, a music video with Sarah Silverman, and is appearing in a feature film “Chasing the Sun” in post-production.
